Social media can be an isolating place. While it might feel like we’re super-connected, ultimately we’re alone, doing our best to express our unique experiences. ⁣⁣

And as highly sensitive entrepreneurs, dreamers, and creatives trying talk about our soul-full businesses on Instagram, we can start to feel like we’re drowning in a sea of noise.

It does NOT have to this way.

You can shift this dynamic on its head by doing the few good deeds I share below. Consider these 5 approaches as Instagram pay it forward moments for your SOULpreneur sisters. Notice the energy that returns when you do these simple, selfless acts.

1. COMMENT FIRST, “LOVE” NEXT

Who doesn’t get excited when they see that speech bubble notification pop up? Instead of scrolling through, click the comment section and leave one. If you have the time and energy, add something thoughtful. But if all you have space for is a one-liner, go for it! Let your sister know you’re thinking of her.

2. "LOVE" THEIR POSTS. DOUBLE-CLICK ON THAT PIC!

And if you don’t have the time or energy for a comment, then make sure to double-tap on the picture or video so your sister knows you’re cheering her on.

3. SHARE THEIR POST IN YOUR INSTAGRAM STORY. TAG THEM SO THEY CAN RESHARE YOUR STORY IN THEIRS.

When you see something inspiring or beautiful in your Instagram feed, it’s easy to click on that little paper airplane to share in to your story. But go the extra mile for your sister by also tagging her in that story. This is helpful for a few reasons:

  • She’ll be able to reshare your story in hers. The benefit of doing this is that it increases her social proof. Her followers see that someone out there appreciates her content, and so this increases her trust factor.

  • It gives her added visibility. You’re giving her such a gift by introducing her to your followers! One of your followers may need exactly what she offers. Don’t worry about competition. If you’re clear about your message, it’s highly unlikely that you have the same soulmate clients. If you want to explore this, messaging is part of the service I offer. Click here for more details.

4. IF YOU FIND SOMEONE WHO’S A GREAT MATCH FOR THEIR SOUL-FULL BIZ OR PASSION PROJECT, TAG THEM IN A POST OR SEND THEM A DM.

If your friend is a divorce coach and you just happen to bump into someone on Instagram talking about divorce, tag them in that post! Or if you want to be more stealthy, share that person’s profile. All you need to do is click on those three little dots at the top of their profile page or a specific picture. Once there, click on '“Copy Profile URL” or “Copy link” and paste it in a DM to your friend. Boom! An instant new connection.

5. IF YOU FIND A HASHTAG THAT RELATES TO THEM, TELL THEM ABOUT IT!

After years of hashtag hunting, I believe that finding good hashtags is a skill. There are so many creative hashtags that can connect us to our soulmate followers. It just takes a bit of effort and consistent hashtag hunting to find them.

This is why passing down a good hashtag is such a gift. You help your sister bypass some of this heavy lifting.

For example, I was browsing the #thistooshallpass hashtag and found a post by a woman who is a mother of two and has an autoimmune disease. This would have been perfect for my friend who’s an autoimmune coach. Alas, I thought of this blog post after the fact. But at least I remembered the hashtag! So I passed that info along to her.

Hashtags: the gift that keeps on giving.

What do you think?

I’d love to know which support idea resonated with you most. And can you think of any other ways you could help a sister out? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
